Pia Venegas was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She left South Florida and moved up north to Gainesville, FL where she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!)
Upon graduating from UF, she moved back to Miami where she was first introduced to the world of workers’ compensation as a legal assistant for a firm representing injured workers. She went on to attend St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami. During her time at St. Thomas, she was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and worked as an Academic Success Fellow, guiding first year law students with their studies.
During her time in law school, she also had the opportunity to be a law clerk in workers’ compensation firms for both the injured workers and defense firms. She also completed a judicial internship with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida Probate Section, and a small firm that deals with Elder law and Guardianship.
Ms. Venegas graduated from St. Thomas University in 2021 and was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year. She began her career as a workers’ compensation defense attorney for about four years, defending Employers and Insurance Companies and trusts this knowledge allows her and advantage in defending and advocating for her clients today. In her spare time, Ms. Venegas enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and line dancing.
