Miami, FL (May 8, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a downtown construction site this morning after a worker reportedly fell from scaffolding while performing exterior work on a mid-rise building.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. at a project near NE 1st Avenue and 10th Street. According to early reports, the worker was wearing safety gear but suffered a serious back injury when a scaffold section collapsed. Miami Fire Rescue transported the individual to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where their condition is currently listed as stable.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified and is expected to begin an investigation into the site’s safety compliance. No additional injuries were reported.
