Miami, FL (May 13, 2025) – A hotel employee in downtown Miami was injured Monday morning in a slip-and-fall incident while working in a back service hallway of a high-rise property near Biscayne Boulevard.

The accident occurred just before 10:00 a.m. while the worker was moving cleaning supplies between guest floors. According to preliminary reports, the hallway had recently been mopped but no wet floor signage was placed in the area. The employee fell hard on her back and hip, suffering visible bruising and complaints of lower back pain. A co-worker called hotel management, who then contacted emergency services.

Paramedics transported the injured worker to Jackson Memorial Hospital for evaluation. The employee is expected to undergo additional testing and monitoring for potential spinal injuries.

As of this writing, OSHA has not commented on the incident, but internal investigations are underway to determine whether safety protocols were followed.

Our thoughts are with the injured worker, and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.
